About the Mission

The first European mission to Venus, in orbit from 2006 to 2014. Studied the runaway greenhouse atmosphere and a strange double vortex at the south pole. Found signs of a possible wetter past. Watched the cloud tops circle the planet in just 4 Earth days. Ended with a first ever aerobraking campaign at Venus.
