About the Mission
The first Japanese Moon landing, in January 2024. Demonstrated pinpoint targeting, touching down within about 55 meters of its goal, a world first. Ended up nose down on the slope yet still worked. Survived brutal lunar nights it was never built for. Proved precision landing methods needed for future bases.
