About the Mission
The first European mission to another planet, in orbit since December 2003. Its radar detected what appears to be liquid water under the south polar cap in 2018. Carried the Beagle 2 lander, lost on arrival and found in orbital images a decade later. Has mapped the surface for over two decades. One of the longest-lived Mars missions.
