About the Mission
Twin craft named Ebb and Flow mapped the lunar gravity field in fine detail. They flew in formation, sensing underground mass by measuring tiny changes in the distance between them. Showed the lunar crust is thinner and more fractured by impacts than expected. School students won a contest to name the twins. Both were deliberately crashed into a lunar mountain at mission end.
