About the Mission
Intentionally crashed into asteroid moon Dimorphos at 22,500 km/h. Changed its orbit by 32 minutes, proving kinetic impact works for planetary defense. The first time humans changed the motion of a celestial body. Debris from the impact created a comet-like tail visible from Earth.
