About the Mission

Launched with a flawed mirror that produced blurry images. Repaired by astronauts in 1993 in one of the greatest rescue missions ever. Has taken over 1.5 million observations. The Hubble Deep Field image showed 3,000 galaxies in a patch of sky the size of a grain of sand.
